I was really impressed with Armel when I saw a clip on youtube. However, at the concert last year, I was disappointed. He’s too goofy, too animated. Big cool factor missing here. I’m done with them. They should be 2 stars tops. Steve’s shoes are too big to fill. They tried, but it aint’ working for me.

I’m watching an REO show from 2010 on Audience HD channel right now, and it is bloody-awful ! It’ s painful ! Cronin is such a wimp. He’s lisping now, too. Dude, buy a clue and man-up a little. This isn’t even “chick music”. I saw them in ’82 with Gary and they rocked. This is just embarrassing to watch now. And what’s up with their guitar player ? He won’t quit smiling. Dude, it’s not that funny…Or is it ?

No Felder = No 5-star rating. In case you didn’t know, it was Felder who wrote the music to the song Hotel California, arguably their biggest hit. Henley and Frey are such control freaks. Felder was one of the original band members, yet he was booted from the band. Sorry, but I will never give them $1 of concert ticket money until Felder returns. They should be rated 3.5 stars max.

Rush should be 6 stars ! These guys have been nailing it for 38 years ! Geddy’s vocals have degraded considerably in the last 10 years, but their playing has never been better. That in itself is worth going to see.

I ALSO GREW UP IN PEORIA ILLINOIS, BORN IN 1950 AND WAS CLASS OF “68 PEORIA HIGH SCHOOL. IT WAS IN THE EARLY 70′S THAT I TRAVELED FRIDAY/SATURDAY NITES TO BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS TO A NIGHT CLUB WHICH NAME I CANNOT REMEMBER. IT WAS IN THAT CLUB THAT I FIRST MET REO SPEEDWAGON AND THE OTHER CENTRAL ILLINOIS BAND ‘HEAD EAST.” THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS TO ME. I WAS IN MY EARLY 20′S DRIVING 40 MILES OVER AND 40 MILES BACK TO PEORIA. I NOW RESIDE IN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, SWIM EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR, HAVE A FULL TIME GARDNER AND A FULL TIME MAID ON MY NEARLY 4ACRES HACIENDA AS THEY CALL IT HERE. AT MY POOL I PLAY ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF REO SPEEDWAGON, “ROLL WITH THE CHANGES” AND “GOING DOWN FOR THE LAST TIME” WHICH IS A SONGS THAT WILL GET YOU DANCING. BOTH OF THESE BANDS ORIGINATED WITH CLASSMATES FROM UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS WHICH IS JUST 40 MILES FURTHER EAST OF BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS. IT IS TOO BAD PERSONALITIES GET IN THE WAY OF EARNING SUPER MONEY AND PERFORMING. BOTH THESE BANDS HAD MEMBERS THAT AFTER SUPER NOTORIETY THEY COULD NOT BE IN THE SAME ROOM. MY OPINION IS THIS IS WHY THE “ROLLING STONES” IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST ALL TIME ROCK AND ROLL BAND EVER. PLUS THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE HAD MANY GREAT SONGS OVER THE YEARS. GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN THEIR LATTER YEARS, IT WAS A GOOD RUN FOR ALL OF US.
